How we met
At the GYC Europe youth conference in Riga (August 2023), Mpaala met Danial, Yasmin's brother, while queuing for lunch. Their chat soon pulled in Yasmin, who was nearby. Turns out, Yasmin already knew Mpaala's older brother, Malumbo: they go to the same church in Sweden! Small world, right?
From the start, Mpaala and Yasmin were curious to know more about each other. Each day, they discovered crazy similarities: both youth leaders, economics grads, middle children, and even musicians! At some point, Mpaala asked for Yasmin's Facebook.
By the second-to-last night, curiosity was at its peak. The program ran late, and with darkness settling in, Mpaala walked Yasmin to her accommodation: their first real one-on-one moment.
