One love, two countries, one website for both celebrations
Case study: Yasmin & Mpaala
A love story that began in a lunch queue
Yasmin and Mpaala met at a youth conference in Riga in August 2023, while Mpaala was queuing for lunch with Yasmin's brother. Each day brought new discoveries: both youth leaders, economics graduates, middle children, and even musicians.
Two years later they celebrated twice, in Lusaka and in Göteborg, and wanted one website that brought both families and both countries together.

The challenge
One couple, two countries and two celebrations, a wedding in Lusaka in September and a celebration in Göteborg in October. Guests needed clear details for the right event, a simple way to send gifts through three different payment apps, and a way to join from far away.
The approach
I gave each country its own colour, purple for Zambia and bronze for Sweden, on a soft sage base, so guests always know which celebration they are reading about. Their love story became a carousel, from how they met to what they love about each other, and the gift options sit in arch-shaped cards.
The outcome
An intimate, joyful website with both events side by side, a countdown that now reads "Just married!", a live-stream page for guests far away, and a cash registry for Twint, Swish and Mobile Money. It was later rebuilt by hand so it loads quickly on any phone.
Two celebrations, one love story
Soft sage with a jewel colour for each country, their names in flowing script over a garden-tent photo, and portraits joined by the word LOVE. The love story slides from their first meeting in Riga to the things they adore about each other, and every page works beautifully on a phone.
